Joe, are you sure about
that? I think the opening just to the left (with the bolt head) is the water
jacket drain.

I just pulled
out a center housing to look at this, and the stud he used is perfect for
oil return. Great idea, but too late for me. The one to the
left is water, but it has a special channel that's cast into the housing to
connect it to the water jacket.
