I thought I remembered something about the ability to transfer data from A to B, but I can't find any info anywhere.

I'm guessing you didn't check the manual :-)

The copy A to B function has been in the EC-2 for quite a while.   As I understand it, old EC-2's might not have the hardware link between the two controllers to allow this to work, but most of us should be OK.  In the past, I haven't had good luck with the copy function, but I always had separate MAP lines at the time, which I now believe to have been most of the problem.  More recently, copy A to B seemed to work very well, except that it didn't seem to copy the injector flow rates.  Tracy said he thought it did transfer those, but he would have to check to be sure.  Also keep in mind that the B controller doesn't have a temp sensor, so that might change the programming needs a bit as well.

Not long ago, I was wishing for a copy B to A option also, or better yet, a way to backup and restore the data to an external source (laptop, USB memory stick, etc).

To actually copy A to B, open your EC-2 manual to the end of the Program Mode 2 section.  He "hides" this valuable info under the heading of "Copying all programmed parameters from A to B" :-)

Basically:
- EC-2 off
- select controller A
- select mode 2
- press and hold the program store switch
- while holding down the program store switch, turn on the power switch to the EC-2
- keep holding the program store switch for about 2 seconds, then release it
- A is not copied to B.  It happens fast, and you won't be able to see that anything happened.

Cheers,
Rusty (atoning for all those times I didn't RTFM)
