Your motor mount looks almost identical to what I've
worked out for my Delta, except that mine would be
much shorter so that the engine is closer to the
firewall.  

What size tubing did you use, and do you have any
analysis numbers for it?

Hi Dennis,

If you want to build your own motor mount I would suggest starting with Van's conical mount.  David Carter's suggestion of ordering from the manufacturer is an even better idea.  You will have to cut off all the motor mount tubes anyway so order the landing gear without the motor mount tubes will also save a few dollars.  Attached is a picture of my RV-4 mount which started out as a Van's RV-4 Conical mount.  Needless to say, I've got to become proficient enough in fiberglass to build my own cowling (I HATE fibeglass!!!).
