I think that what we are seeing here is that the intake charge is being diluted by the exhaust due to the huge hole in the rotor housing for the PPort. As the rotor passes over this opening the exhaust gasses (which are still under some pressure)escape into the intake charge. This is one of tests that I plan when I finally get around to putting an engine together.
