Well, here in Raleigh, NC, we didn't get much in the way of hurricane weather.  Just wet.  But the upside was that I had a great time trying to find out what this engine would look like sitting in front of my airframe.  Whadya think?

It's a little longer that the Lyc.  I'm going to be able to get it back to about 35" whereas the plans call for 30".  The good news is that the PSRU locks the ring gear, so I'll have the 2.85 reduction and the alternator will work in the stock position.  The bad news is that the brand new Weber carb is going to have to go and the Racing Beat intake either cut down or replaced.

Using every example I could find, I tried to work out a reasonable mount using various pieces of sticks, styrofoam and duct tape.  Just trying to get an idea of what would fit where.  I'm at a loss as to what would work best:  a)the 'beam' mount that I modeled on the left side, b) just a bottom support that attaches in the middle, or c) a bottom support that attaches at the bottom front.  What can't be modeled or seen because of the stand is the beam that would run down to the bottom of the nosegear in all cases.

At the top, I have two beams coming from the top mount points to meet in front of the alternator.  I believe that I can attach these to the top of the center housing.  Would that work better?
