tommy - here in portland we recently
saw the merger of the homewing, an independent entity, with EAA
chapter 102, which, as you can well imagine, carried a lot of politics with
it. it made me realize that i really don't have a need for the local
chapters anymore, since the knowledge that used to be dispersed locally is now
available tenfold via the internet. i now belong to chapter 782 and even
publish their newsletter, but for technical info it's back to you guys.
one of the best learning experiences i've had so far was an unscheduled (my
insistence actually) evening in tracy's hangar, pulling parts off the shelf and
talking about how they all work.
There is a lot more
to accomplish than just making noise with a new engine, so perhaps the list
members can help you divise a test program.
There is a wealth of
wisdom here for not much money…J
