Its funny this topic would come up now. Just last week
I ordered a new Odyssey 680 battery after my LC-X1220P Panasonic SLAB
battery died an early death, due to me flogging it routinely. I
decided to try the Odyssey after reading comments from so many happy
customers. It should arrive today. Let the flogging
begin.

The
PC 680s are the same battery, but there are Metal-Jacketed ones for the
motorcycle crowd which you don't need for your aircraft. They also
cost a bit more. The usually have the code MJ or M after the PC
680. So you might want to check which model you are getting.

- Dave,
-
- ebay has the Odysey battery for about $66 delivered ($52.99+$13
S&H).
-
- Search for "PC-680"
-
- I believe all PC-680's are the same although they advertise them for
Harleys, BMWs, and other vehicles.

- Perfect, Thanks Tommy. I just found my next (and probably all
subsequent) battery.

- Dave, from the web
site:
- Superior cranking and fast charge capability
- The 5 second cranking power of ODYSSEY® batteries is double to triple
that of equally sized conventional batteries, even when the temperature
is as low as - 40°C. Also, with simple constant voltage charging
(alternator or independent charger), there is no limitation on the inrush
current, so the user is assured of a fast charge.
